The SAFE act,a key component of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act. is designed to enhance consumer protection and reduce fraud by encouraging states to establish minimum standards for the licensing and registration of state-licensed mortgage loan originators and for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators (AARMR) to establish and maintain a nationwide mortgage licensing system and registry for the residential mortgage industry.

The SAFE Act requires state-licensed mortgage loan originators to pass a written qualified test, to complete pre-licensure education courses, and to take annual continuing education courses.

Courses listed here meet the continuing education requirements for Mortgage Loan Originators. Click on the "register here" link and enroll in a course anytime - 24/7.  Once enrolled in a course, you have one year to complete it.  If you get interupted, you can return to the course and the system will remember where you left off.  Courses are designed to work best in Internet Explorer v6 or higher.  No special plugins are required to run the program.
